Summary: Diana wants to visit the temple
Warnings: none
Status: In Progress
Open to: Whoever wants to come in really

Diana had spent the majority of the morning reading and trying to keep her mind off the incident of the morning. But it did her little good, seeing that the thoughts just would not leave her head. It became clear to her that she had to do something when she closed her eyes for a moment and the shadows around the face of the murdered man were replaced with Felix's own face.

Her eyes snapped open and she quickly stood up, gesturing for her handmaiden to come over. She carefully instructed her to go and find there whereabouts of General Felix, and to see if he was busy or not. The woman nodded and backed out of the tent as Diana picked her book back up.

"I will go ask the Gods what to do" she thought, walking over to put the book away "And who better than the Goddess of Wisdom herself?".

Characters: Diana
Summary: Diana is shaken by a vision/prophecy she has just had
Warnings: none
Status: In Progress
Open to: Anyone in the camp

Morning was generally Diana's favourite time of day. It was quiet, peaceful and gave her time to think. But it didn't seem like today was going to go according to schedule. She had shooed her handmaiden out of the tent, and lit some of her favourite incense to help her concentrate. With General Felix back, she wanted to attempt to see something useful...but she wished she hadn't.

She could sense it, the familiar feeling of the physical world fading away as the visions and words of the gods overtook her senses, She could see a man in front of her, a man with dark hair wearing military garb. Unusually, the entire outfit was white and she was following behind him at a distance. Diana wandered behind him for a few moments, trying to figure out who he was. Even though she couldn't see his face, he seemed familiar. Suddenly then man stopped and clutched at his chest and she saw a bright red stain forming on his clothes. Daggers seemed to be flying all around her and she darted forward to escape them.

Diana could hear the voices as she ran, almost taunting her. "They're going to do it. Stab him. They're going to get him and that will be the end of him. He'll be gone, all gone, his thread snipped, life at an end". Diana could feel the panic seeping into her as she continued to run. She reached the man, praying that it wasn't who she thought. But when he turned around he had no face, all it was was shadows. The panic that had been bubbling under the surface returned full force and Diana did the only thing that seemed to make sense, screaming as loud as she possibly could.

"No, you can't do this, I don't want to see this. You can't take him, I won't let you".

But the voices ignored her, continuing to chant their malevolent chorus and Diana couldn't stop it no matter how loud she screamed at them. They just wouldn't stop.

Characters: Calidus, Elondriel
Summary: The Final Day of the Grand Progress in Rome. As everyone begins to take down the encampment, Calidus sneaks back into the city.
Warnings: none
Status: In Progress
Open to Cornelius' house

It was early morning when Captain Antaeus Livia Calidus left the area of the encampment in which the majority of the Progress was housed. Helios hadn't even put his flaming crown on yet, and Selene was only barely finishing her race across the sky. It was comletely and utterly dark, save for his torch and the odd lamp carried by city guards.

He could see from far off that the men eye him suspiciously, and would have most likely came to see what he was doing, but would return to their own business after catching his battle armor, and the gold trim on his red cloak, the sign of an officer.

Soon, he found himself in the place where he saw Elondriel try to escape. He sighed, and after making sure no one was around, he started waving his torch back and forth, just to make sure he could get the other's attention.

Summary: Shirking off work to socialize. How the mighty have fallen.
Warnings: none

Open

She really shouldn't have left the boys alone. So what if her suggestion of leaving them to "debate" on their own had made both their eyes light up? The fact that Tiberius had practically beamed at her was a little unnerving but, perhaps it could be seen as a step in a more...tolerable relationship with him?

Or it could be she had become increasingly more curious where Elondriel was concerned and, well, she had heard things. Things that should be addressed if she related to certain members of the house.

Whatever the reason, she had abandoned her charges to seek out the green-eyed Gaul, beaming when at last she'd found him.

"Hello..."

Characters: Priestess Diana, General Felix, Captain Calidus
Summary: Diana receives a letter with good news
Warnings: none
Status: In Progress.
Open

Diana had thoroughly enjoyed her visit to the home of Cornelius. She had not had someone of a more learned nature to converse with in quite some time and was grateful for the opportunity. She would have liked to have been able to spend more time talking to his wife, but of all people Diana understood how tiring a long journey was.

She returned to her tent, saying her goodbyes to Captain Calidus and going inside. Her handmaiden was waiting inside, clutching what looked like a sealed piece of paper.

“My lady, you’re back,” said the woman, bowing and holding the letter out to her “This arrived not long after you left”.

Diana looked at it and her eyes widened. “I recognize that seal…it’s from him” she thought, taking it from the woman’s hands. “Thank you” she said, sitting down on a nearby couch to read open it.

While the handmaiden busied herself lighting incense and straightening things, Diana quickly read the letter with growing excitement. She could barely contain her glee when she said “Leanora, go and alert Captain Calidus. General Felix is on his way here. This letter was written a few weeks ago, and he could arrive at any time”.

The woman nodded and rushed off, while Diana sat back and smiled. “I knew he would come for me”.

Characters: Nerida
Summary: Nerida makes a stop at a temple during a run to the market.
Warnings: none
Status: Complete.
One-Shot.

She had gone to the temple in a roundabout way, gathering the items requested of her as quickly as possible and then drifting over through the crowds. For a long moment she had contemplated over which temple to enter until stopping at the Temple of Janus.

Janus, God of beginnings and endings, and of doors.

Well, the doorway to her old life in Tuscany had been closed, opening to a new one in Rome. Not to mention the number of relationships she had started with those in the house. Perhaps it wasn't such an odd place to end up after all.

Now, prayers for guidance hopefully heard, she exited, heading towards her new home.

Summary: Mornings are always awkward after almost-sex, did your mama teach you nothin'?
Warnings: none
Status: In Progress.
Open

He couldn't stop thinking about Cornelius. About.. what they had done. About Calidus and his strange emotions. Rome was, by far, made up of the strangest men Elondriel had ever encountered. And why did two have to pursue him this way?

Sighing, he made himself look busy as he wondered if Luna had made it alright. She was the strongest person he knew; she had to be fine. He knew she was.

..And that's when he spotted Cornelius coming down the way.

Open to the household

She had her mother's looks and that alone did not bode well for her, he decided. To succeed in Flavia's employ you needed some sort of brains, if not unwavering loyalty. She was too young to display such feelings, but perhaps only felt them that much more acutely. Cornelius tired quickly of silent observation and turned to the slaves populating his rooms.

"Leave us," he ordered, encouraging the girl to continue her work arranging that... boy's things. She did not seem uneasy in his presence, perhaps that was what Flavia preferred in her. "May we talk?"

Characters: Nerida, Nicia
Summary: Nerida is loitering inside, the boys otherwise engaged. She and Nicia talk.
Warnings: none
Status: Complete.
Open to the household

It had been long day so far, arguing with Tiberius was very tiresome and she was beginning to think that the young man was doing it simply because he could. Cornelius had also begun to act out now that he had more male role models. That was unpleasant. She'd thought she'd managed to keep something constant and familiar from home. Now it seemed that this too, was fading from her.

With a sigh Nerida let her hair down, running her fingers through the dark wavy strands. Perhaps Elondriel was about? Despite hearing about his long-awaited beating, she still considered him a trustworthy person. After all, he acted as if being beaten was nothing. Even an order from her master or mistress would be welcome, willing it wasn't buying a large amount of things from the market. The crowded area still disturbed her and the more she could avoid it, the better.
